At Southern Hydraulic, we keep a running stock of telescopic hydraulic cylinders in a multitude of sizes. Telescopic cylinders are constructed like the name suggests, like a telescope. This type of cylinder features a rod built out of multiple stages with nested steel tubes of progressively smaller diameters. The main barrel has the largest diameter, and the plungers decrease in size, typically, by one inch increments. The moving, smaller-diameter, sections are called stages.
This special design enables a telescopic cylinder to achieve long strokes while retaining relatively small collapsed lengths. As this type of hydraulic cylinder can have a minimal retracted size and is able to extend itself to much longer lengths, this model is ideal for applications where space constraints make the use of conventional single-rod cylinders unsuitable.
The telescoping hydraulic cylinder, which we carry and manufacture, is designed to operate up to pressures of 2500 psi and is available for immediate delivery. The primary features of this cylinder are:
In the table above, those regularly stocked telescopic cylinders are marked by an asterisk (*). Please contact our office to place an order, which will be delivered quickly. We can also make custom-built and custom-designed cylinders, so make sure to fill-out our quote form and you will be contacted right away by one of our experts. We are also capable of double acting telescopic cylinders. Double acting telescopic cylinders are not typically stocked items, so give us a call to see what we have done previously.
